Stainless Steel 317 and 317L Welded Tubing are austenitic, high-alloy stainless steels with 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum, providing additional resistance to crevice corrosion and pitting. Grade 317L, with a reduced carbon content, is more suitable for applications involving welding, lessening the chance of intergranular corrosion. These welded tubes have superior mechanical properties, with a common tensile strength of 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 35%.
