**Stainless Steel 316L Tubing** has 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum with a 0.03% maximum carbon. The addition of molybdenum enhances resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, especially in chloride-rich environments. Such tubes generally provide a tensile strength of 485 MPa, a yield strength of 170 MPa, and an elongation of approximately 35%. The low carbon content improves weldability and allows the tubing to be used in as-welded applications with or without post-weld heat treatment, retaining full corrosion resistance over the life of the application.
